The government of Myanmar is preventing the World Food Program from distributing the food it’s flown into the stricken country, leading the United Nations agency to consider whether to cease sending in supplies. Some 22,000 dead already and by some estimates it could rise as high as 100k.
It always amazes me what extent governments will go to to avoid being exposed. In this case, the junta has decided that the death of thousands of its people is worth it being able to maintain control over who comes into the country…what assholes! As usual, it is the youngest that will be victimized the most.
Personally, I think the UN assessment team should be allowed access immediately and all visas granted, but as dictatorships and oppressive regimes go; ’screw the people, we are the government and our word is the final word’.
Amazing the world as a community cannot mandate this as an atrocity and force its way in. The word
genocide
comes to mind…The word genocide comes to mind…

The situation there is horrible… It is always bad to hear of somebody, who prefer power over people to the prejudice of people… And the worst is, that that government has its army and the army supports the system, even if families and friends of the soldiers are maybe dying…
And the unity of the world… People think, hate, want the power and control over others, mostly are narrow-minded and do not care about others… For example I do not know any government which really wants to help their own people. They are so happy, that they have the power over their own country and that they can get as much money as they can from the people. Like USA… They attacked Iraq only because oil is there and USA want control over the oil sources… No government will care about some people on the other end of the world…
