The smell of death is in the air…
When a parent abuses or neglects a child, government steps in to offer protection. But who steps in when government abuses or neglects its people? The United Nations announced an answer to that question: It would. At least, that is what they said 3 years ago…
Since then, the United Nations has averted its gaze as Sudan’s government continues to ravage the people of Darfur. It has turned away as Zimbabwe’s rulers terrorize their own people. Now it is bowing to Burma’s sovereignty as that nation’s junta allows more than a million victims of Cyclone Nargis to face starvation, dehydration, cholera and other miseries rather than allow outsiders to offer aid on the scale that’s needed.
Now the European Union nations are urging Myanmar’s military leaders to let in international aid to cyclone victims, saying that failure to do so could amount to a crime against humanity.
A lot of frickin’ talk while they die…
The U.N. said very little international aid is getting to cyclone victims amid reports that the nation’s military regime is hoarding some of the foreign aid for itself.
The UN,
EU
and US
have proven themselves
to be
completely ineffective…The UN, EU and US have proven themselves to be completely ineffective…
…when it does not directly benefit themselves (and the Olympic committee equally as stupid for awarding China the games)…. now is a good time for an invasion and no more perfect a government to overthrow…I am getting pissed because we seem to be able to invade and conquer when we want to, when it benefits us. Now we sideline as if there are rules to follow….? A UNITED FRONT OF MANY NATIONS… a play on words :{
They are saying it could exceed 1.5 million dead if they don’t get aid in now…lets pull a WWII and wait until it gets up around 6 mil…then we will jump into the mix?
